Companies should honor requests for people to be able to opt out of their text messaging programs. I used to work in a call center supporting a major cellular carrier and their devices. The most common problem people called about was text messages they did not want and needed help in stopping. All we could do was educate the customer on how to opt out of the text messaging spam.
This was one year ago. I left and never looked back.
A lot of the immigrants from Mexico and Somalia that have settled here (northern Colorado) could use this. We have a local clinic that is always so busy that you have to call first thing in the morning to get an appointment. I'd think that if they did offer this service, it'd be a big help.
I agree - used consoles are seriously one of the best (and cheapest) ways to get the latest in gaming - most of the time you'll get a slightly used, working PS2 / Cube / XBox but only if you know where to shop.
I think that if open source software is used in elections, it will reduce ballot stuffing, political party bias by contribution, and possibly make elections fair for all involved, from candidates to voters.
There was once a smartwatch called the Timex Datalink. I remember when it came out. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timex_Datalink for more information.

Check out http://imo.im/. It has integration of practically every messaging service, as well as a great and android app.
Yeah, I too use imo on my Android. Low battery consumption, works quite well.
Slashdot just won't be the same without 'ya :'(

Wouldn't this result in a greater amount of, say, phishing sites?
I would just use Lysol disnfecting spray on a paper towel.
