Benchmarks faster than the competition's betas
In the jsBalls fight timedemo Safari 4 public beta is faster than IE8 rc1, Firefox 3.1 beta 2, and Opera 10 alpha 1. Looks like it is shaping up to be a good release.

jsBalls Score
Does it improve its jsBalls score? Last I saw ie8 was once of the slowest browsers. Has it improved since beta2?

Hands down the fastest browser
While it seems to have gotten slower since some of its earlier versions like (0.2.149.30) it is still by far the fastest browser by a pretty big margin when comparing javascript with DOM interaction.
In the jsballs fight timedemo it is twice as fast as the next closest browser. Chrome 1 completes it in 21 seconds while Safari 3.2 takes 46 seconds.

Javascript is slower?
While it seems do be doing quite well in their tests javascript seems to be slower for a bunch of tests.
Its times in the jsBalls fight timedemo are a second or so slower than Firefox 3. And sites with a lot of animation done in javascript like http://www.dhteumeuleu.com seem to run slower.

Chrome also cleans up a jsBalls timedemos
As far as game timedemo benchmarks go Chrome also cleans up. So much faster at this benchmark than the competition. Will be interesting to see how the next generation of Safari, IE, and Firefox compare.

Re:Google may be afraid of Ad Blockers
It is neat what is being build with javascript game wise already. The jsBalls demos do some things gamewise I have not seen in javascript before. They are much more arcade like than the previous puzzle games I have seen in javascript.
