Thanks to GameSpot for their list of their 10 favorite videogame boss fights ever. The article claims: "The bosses here qualify as memorable by excelling in a number of categories; difficulty, personality, and innovative fight mechanics all come into play", and goes on to name bosses such as Dark Falz from Phantasy Star ("...so terrifying, they couldn't even spell his name right"), Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear Solid ("more about figuring out the gimmicks behind his trickery than being skillful with your weaponry"), and Ganon from Zelda: The Ocarina Of Time ("the most dramatic and epic [boss battle] in Zelda history.")

Thanks to Nintendojo for the news that Konami and Hudson are creating a mascot-infested fighting game in the vein of Nintendo's classic multiplayer fighter Super Smash Bros. The title, called Dream Mix World Fighters, is being released for PS2 and GameCube in Japan this December, and the game will ship "...featuring such enigmatic characters as Bomberman, Peach Taro, Master Higgins, Bonk, Takao, Yugo, Rika, Simon Belmont, Dracula, and many more." But, as Video-Fenky points out, where are the Kojima-game characters?

Thanks to the TNL forum regulars for finding a French-language story showing that Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima's cult interactive fiction title, Policenauts, will be re-released for Playstation in Japan at a budget price this August. There's an excellent English-language Policenauts fan site which gives a little more information on this Japanese-heavy 'Lethal Weapon set in the future' title, which has Meryl Silverburgh of Metal Gear Solid fame as one of the main game characters. There's more info at a very comprehensive Kojima 'game gallery' over at JunkerHQ, but this follow-up to Snatcher is still missing an English translation, sadly.
