Opinions on the Koenigsseg Regera?
Marketing Literature - Top Gear writeup
Asking because it seems they've used electric motors in a more direct capacity to allow them to ditch a traditional gearbox altogether, and since electric vehicles and supercars are both points of experience for you, you're in a unique position to share insight on where this kind of technology might end up. -

hi.
Good looking too: The Koenigsegg
/OF -
Love that car - Here is another
The Bugatti Veyron is so extremely cool
:D Before that though, the fastest streetcar was the Koenigsegg CC, which had a top speed of 390 km/h (~240 mph) - They made a new model, the CCR, which is also pretty nice - These two cars are my favorite dream car :)
My favorite car dream site is the German Auto-Salon Singen - They have SO many cars (in stock too). New and used. Stock, prototype and vintage - They got it all. I must go down there and see the store some time, I'm told it's unbelievable :)
Oh, yeah, they got four Bugatti Veyron's in stock, price: EUR 1.086.206,00 (each)
*drool* -
UltraSuperMegaCars
Are there any cars out there better than this?
This may or may not be the best car available. However, it is surprising how much competition the Veyron has:
- Ferrari Enzo Ferrari
- Porsche Carrera GT
- Mercedes McLaren SLR
- Lamborghini Murcielago
- Saleen S7
- Koenigsegg CCR
- Pagani Zonda
There are more cars in this class, but I can't remember them off the top of my head.
I don't know how the market can support all of these $250k+ cars. How many people out there can really afford these? Wish I was one of them :( -
Re:nice magazine, throwaway article
Write up something on the Lotus Elise when it arrives in the U.S. and I'll be pleased.
:)
Bah. I'm waiting for Koenigsegg to come to the U.S. It's a sexy transformer, even just sitting around. The website claims it's the fastest car in production, but I don't care, because I'd never drive it 1/3 that speed. It's just the kind of thing that makes you realize that Ferraris and Porsches are boxy and swollen, and that you don't have to give up the dreams about cars you had as a boy.
It's a freaking super-sized matchbox car for grownups, and I want one.
P.S. That top? It's removable! I can't find any pictures of it off, however. Just kidding, here's one, though that color scheme is a bit retrograde, and makes that console look too shagadelic for me, with that giant rotary thing in the middle. This one is better, looks like a spaceship from above, but it's the 2001 model, and I think the shape of the back's changed.
P.P.S. Reminds me of Speed Racer from the back, too, with the twin cowling thing.
Oh, and according to some wording that seems new since the last time I read the site... they now sell it in the U.S.?!? I was told they weren't cleared here yet, but cool.
P.P.P.S. Yet another thing to make you think Sweden has more dibs on the word "lust" than the Germans. Except it probably costs as much as my parents' house, so I guess that also qualifies as envy :( -
