Not just about the shirts
I'm sure Best Buy isn't just after them for having blue shirts. This is more likely a form of "payback" for the embarrassment that Improv Everywhere caused Best Buy in 2006 when 80 people showed up at a NYC Best Buy dressed in blue polo shirts and khakis. (Flickr and YouTube coverage.)

Can I run my MacOS Apps
When I can insert a commercial Mac DVD or download a Mac
.DMG installer disk, run the installer, and run the apps, then I'll have a PC that looks and feels like a Mac. -
Re:monkey
Uh.. monkey? I am really sorry dude.
I did hear about someone got his dreams of marrying Natalie Portman crash and burn after he saw the developed photograph, one person joined the new weighloss reality show as a result of that joke email and atleast one incident from the era of Black&White monitors where someone threatened to kill the person who started that stupid joke after facing serious identity crtisis as a result of the picture produced by that wonderful embedded camera.
Its ok. We are here for you. Beauty is only sin deep anyway. -

No, this is in fact due to a real power outage. -
my laptop was sent without return instructions
There seems to be quite a bit of misinformation here regarding my "agreement" with Microsoft (there wasn't any) regarding what I can do with the laptop. I've updated my blog post with the following:
As I mentioned in my original post on the laptop, the only communication I received about this was an email from Edelman. The email stated that Microsoft was sending me a "present" with "no strings attached" (those were the exact words used in the email). They did not include any instructions at all regarding what to do with the laptop. Also, I did not receive the same email as the other bloggers, including the follow-up email that was sent by Microsoft to Marshall Kirkpatrick asking him to return or give away the laptop. I have asked Edelman for an explanation regarding this inconstancy, but have not yet received one. So just to be clear, I was never sent any kind of instructions on what to do with the laptop and I did not sign anything, including an NDA.

We have Open Source Cream Cheese now? Oh sweet lord of mercy! All we need is Open Source Bagel and Open Source Toaster. Oh wait, we already have NetBSD.

Article that doesn't suck.
Too bad the link on their front page is broken (and requires giving zip code + age before you can get to the "Oops! Page not found" result).
I Googled and found this, it's got some links to some cool amateur photos of the implosion:

Re:Survival Research Laboratories, Seemen, etc.SRL is cool (I've seen them many times) but the thing they are sorely lacking is a sense of pacing. They build these really cool machines, but watching their shows, the experience one mostly has is monotony. It's not unusual to spend half an hour in the middle of the show wondering whether the show is over now, before some machine starts tearing some new machine apart.
Sadly, the SFPD seem to be on SRL's mailing lists these days, so they don't get away with much any more. For the last few years, the Fire Marshall has tended to show up before the show has even gotten underway.
If you like SRL, you might also like Seemen: here's an announcement for one of their recent shows: news:344de302.1085384@news.concentric.net.
