Re:And you should be, because we must tell lies
Beautiful comment. And sometimes you have to lie as much as they do, especially if they're asking for 5 years experience with a technology that was invented 2 years ago. Those bastards are often as guilty at buzzword bingo as we have to be.
Twice recently I've noticed something offering hope. Jobs were posted to two email lists I subscribe to, LILUG and the NY Alt.NET. In both cases the requirements were ripped apart by people not in the job market. in the case of the Alt.NET job, an "updated" posting was soon added to the list. Nothing makes me happier than when people are forced to be brutally honest.

of course LUGs are still relevant almost all the people that replied here are involved in their local lugs and seem to be doing great. As for us http://www.lilug.org/ we're still doing amazing stuff each weekend, you know why? because they're is still amazing stuff out there to learn about linux almost every day. I almost can't believe this is a question! So for all those out there that weren't aware, GO GET OUT THERE and visit you're local LUG.

Local tech help
I mentioned this link on the Long Island Linux Users Group Mailing List. Unfortunatly I cannot make it there until this weekend if that, but at least one member can go down there.
One problem, he can't get through to the contact number for the red cross.
So if anyone figures out how to actually get them on the horn please post it here or on the LILUG Mailing List.

President of LILUG.
