Re:wrong guy?
You sure this guy isn't the president of the Croatian Microsoft User Group?
Vlatko Kosturjak is a good guy, and he has been instrumental in maintaining a high profile for Linux and FLOSS in Croatia in the last 10 years. He has also administered the Croatian LUG website for years, helped organise numerous talks by OSS/Free Software speakers, install fests, and worked on translations. In fact, the work that HULK has done on promoting FLOSS in Croatia (including complete translations of OpenOffice, KDE, GNOME and Fedora into Croatian), despite their low activity levels is amazing. So don't jump to conclusions.
He is simply skeptical that this is the ultimate victory for us just yet. There are real issues in getting FLOSS implemented on a large scale, especially when Windows is as entrenched as it is in Croatia, and where shady dealings secure deals for big companies far too often.
When we see FLOSS deployed at a large scale in Croatia, we can open the champagne. Until then, it's just a blurb from a politician, possibly trying to get a better price from MS. It's not like we haven't seen this in other countries already... -

Re:As flattering a photo of RMS as there'll ever b
I first saw this image on the cover of Sam Williams's book Free as in Freedom. For the person who asked, I don't know the origin, but it's copyright Sam Ogden/Photo Researchers Inc. and can not be used without permission (unlike the text of the book, which uses the GNU Free Documentation Licence). The image is actually a rather ordinary-looking on the front of the book.
In some pics he looks like the quintessential fat, hairy, ugly old slob; in others like a messiah or a jolly Santa Claus. My favourites (that fall in the latter category) are the one on the back cover of the Revolution OS DVD (which also makes up the cover art on the second disc) and this one taken in Croatia in 2000. He really stands out in a line-up :-)
Imagine what he'll look like when his hair goes grey. -

Or in a barber shop. Ye gods, have you seen the beard on that man?
Does anyone else see an uncanny resemblance? -
Re:A linux workunit cache!
I have already done something similar long time ago. It's called MultiSeti and you can download it here. It also supports distributing work units over SMP.

Re:I'll be the first to say it
Definitely, my college friends and I have spent many a time smoking pot then going straight for the visualization plugins. xplsisnjasp is especially good for this (and sober use, too) since with a little bit of electronics, you can light up your whole room (I have eight strings of Chrismas lights attatched to it with a series of relays.)

I have made DOS port of Scorched Island 3D!
Hi! One disadvantage minus. I have made port of Scorched Island 3D to DOS. You can find it at official homepage. Or you can download here from FTP or HTTP. Good luck playing DOS/WINDOWS users!

Re:Here's the score card...
I have a correction about MicroLinux, it's a small distribution (14Mb basic install) which is customized for Croatian users (and not Russian -- that's why pages are in Crotian). It's mainly aimed at people who want to try how Linux looks like without much instalation and/or configuration. It's not aimed at embeded market.

Re:Here's the score card...
Don't forget these as well:
ET-Linux - Runs on embedded x86 systems, and really IS meant for small, embedded systems (eg. little to no security). glibc2.1/kernel 2.0.38. Used with an ADC card to acquire data in the astrophysics lab where I work. It'll fit nicely in a 6MB flash chip.
TINY Linux - Really meant for recycling old 386s, works in an embedded environment without too much work. A full install with X takes around 80MB, but you can pare it down to 10-20. Based on libc5, though, so watch out when compiling new packages.
MicroLinux - I haven't used this one, nor do I read Russian (which the page is in), but I've heard that it works and has a very small installed footprint.
MuLinux - An Italian distro, still in development, major feature of which is the ability to live in a ramdisk on a computer with only 4MB of ram, if I understand correctly what I've read about it. (Haven't actually used this one either.)
