Here is what to do:
Go to https://mayone.us/ and read a little bit. The video explaining it is just 4 minutes long
...Donate if you can, and do spread the word anyway.
As he says, it's a little bit of a moonshot but we need to try it!

MaydayPAC / MayOne.US
What do you think about MayOne, aka MaydayPAC, Lawrence Lessig's attempt to reform US democracy (on the Federal level)? Were you surprised how quickly it reached the initial funding goal? Do you think it has a chance of actually making a significant change?

Re:Glimmer of hope, squashed
The narrowing to 2-3 Kudos happens before the primaries even take place. See here: http://www.ted.com/talks/lawrence_lessig_we_the_people_and_the_republic_we_must_reclaim
I just gave these people money: a citizens' funded and crowdsourced superPAC First time in a long time that I have donated to something to a political movement. But I really think that we need election reform before voting will make a difference.

The best way
The best way to use these committees would be to have them shut down the stupid situation that allows them to exist in the first place.
Like Lessig is doing with Mayday PAC.

Re:That's annoying!
But I think that door is closing
Why? Who is going to close it, the lawmakers being paid by the finance guys?
Here's your chance for change if that's what you want to see.

Re:That's annoying!
Personally I think the government should step in, that's what their job is after all
They think their job is to do whatever the people who pay them want them to do, and the people paying them are the people making money off of being allowed to game the system.
This looks like a good place to point to Mayday PAC. If you want to change how the system works, this might be the best opportunity right now. Hopefully it will pay off in 2016. The people in Congress need to be replaced with people who are going to work for the people instead of for companies.

Re:ISPs are Shady
I completely agree. So does Lawrence Lessig: he's trying to get his SuperPAC off the ground. I donated. You might want to consider donating as well.

A SuperPAC to demand neutrality and end corruption
I would expect Lawrence Lessig's MAYDAY SuperPAC could solve this.
As far as I can see, it aims to set up congressmen who will take money out of governing, and I bet it will also wipe out FCC corruption and reset pointers to net neutrality as a consequence of where I expect it will go.

You're in luck!
What would be cool is if this super PAC returned everyone's money if they don't raise the critical mass of dollars to make a difference. Ultimately that's my main worry. I'd rather donate $1000 to a cause that would give me my money back if it failed to raise enough money to make a real difference, than donate $10 that was gone forever regardless of whether it is used effectively.
Wasting my already-spent mod points by posting, but I think it's worth it:
That's exactly what they're doing. If you look at their FAQ, the second section explains that they will set certain funding targets, people will "pledge" their contributions, and only if they meet their total pledge target will any money actually change hands. Just like Kickstarter.
I've already pledged $20, and I wish I could give more, but our financial situation isn't super-stable at present
:-/ I think what Lessig is doing is probably about the most important political action of our time.Dan Aris
