Re:Quite computers?
Quite what?
Sorry for being such an ass. I realize you meant "quiet", but seeing that typo over and over in your comment felt like someone was repeatedly stabbing my brain with a toothpick

Re:red bananas
Red bananas exist. The yellow, sterile, seedless Cavendish and closely related varieties are not the world's only bananas.
Google is an intentional misspelling of "googol".
Some have said that "ogle" plays a role in the company's name, too, (part of the reason for the particular misspelling) but the official company history says nothing of the sort. It'd be kind of funny, since it can mean to eye something with greedy interest. That's very apt for a major search engine, but whether that ever crossed the mind of either Larry Page or Sergey Brin I don't know. I would suspect they or someone in contact with them would have noticed it by this point, but that doesn't mean it had any bearing on the initial (re)naming of the search engine and company.

Re:Perfect thing to fit on a truck to ram somewherAl Quaeda constitutes a horde....Do you think what the US has done in Iraq is sane?
Actually, no, they are much bigger than a horde. Simply put, they are a political faction that wants the west to leave the middle eastern countries alone. America is right to wipe out the top leaders of them. The real problem is that we have not been trying to do that. In fact, since W's invasion AND occupation of Iraq, we have built up AQ, and quit spending time on tracking down the real AQ leaders. After all, how many real AQ leader in Afghanastan have we caught in the last 4 years? Just the slow and weak ones.
As to the total of your postings, I agree with you. I think that America has slide way off the edge. It is time that we start acting like we have a pair. The fact that we so easily accepted the US PATRIOT act as well as allow W. to spy on us via a number of illegal means, says that we have lost our way. What bothers me more, is that I believe the dems will ignore W's illegal actions after the next election. That indicates that we have lost our morality as well.

Re:Huh?
Have you ever heard of proofreading? The word is faze , not "phase." You have about a hundred spelling and grammar errors like that in your opinion piece whose stream-of-consciousness style seems excessive even by blog standards. You make no cogent points and only parrot the "Microsoft is teh suck, Windows users are idiots, using Linux makes you smart" line that got old years ago. I pity your English teachers for having to read your longer works.

Re:Open Development Platforms on Consoles
No, I'm not. The top listed games are ripoffs of Civilization, any FPS, Puzzle Bobble, Breakout (!!), and emulators to play other games. About the only original game that's worth playing out of that list is Nethack.
Right now the Linux open-source gaming scene has about as much depth as a "500 games in 1" shareware CD from 1991. I'm sure in 14 years you'll have something to instill more pride in prospective users. -

Re:If...
You read Slashdot, so you understand the importance of editorial control to shape propogandistic propoganistic propagandistic lies.

Re:Recycled?
this is a response to your question and the responses to your post which agree that re-using is not recycling. i disagree, and i present a canonical definition as evidence: recycle.
in my mind, you re-cycle something when you take it out of its original use and put it to another use, even if the second use is the same as the first (such as, as someone said, painting a bookshelf and putting it in a new room). -
