Out of all the hardware that is controlled by software, I would have thought drone software would be the most scrutinized.

Not just that, it's an actual quote of Patton.

Young men wanted war? Are you nuts?

All of them? No. But it wouldn't surprise me if a significant number saw it as an opportunity - for glory, loot or just to kick ass.

War happens out of necessity- or perceived necessity- not because people WANT to go to war.

But that's your loophole - perception. "Brave $US! The $THEM hate us and if we don't get them first they'll kill us all! Remember $PAST_EVENT". You make them want to. It's left as an exercise for the reader to fill in the variables. Bonus points if it works with $US and $THEM reversed.

But so what if had? Hitler was a demogogue who might say anything if it would gain him power. To that end, he might just as easily have said something true as something false.

For instance, he's quoted here as saying "There could be no issue between the Church and the State. The Church, as such, has nothing to do with political affairs. On the other hand, the State has nothing to do with the faith or inner organization of the Church."

No doubt Hitler had some ulterior motive for advocating separation of Church and State but simple quoting Hitler would not in any way undermine the concept.

Similarly, America's law makers may have their flaws but they are by no stretch of the imagination like the Nazis or secretly harbour the objectives of the Nazis.

And right after that, you realize that the Master Chief wasn't a marine. He was a NCO, a petty officer. Master chief is the highest rank an enlisted man can reach in the Navy, and it's an important position of leadership. Next time, you might want to do your research, which you can here.

This was actually said by Arnaud-Armaury, the Abbot of Citeaux, the Papal
Legate. Though his exact words are not known, the latin equivalent,
"Neca ecos omnes. Deus suos agnoscet." was recorded by a monk who was present at
the time.
And the paragraph starts with the version that you gave as being a modern descendant. (Shows where my mind is at.)

Sometimes, war is absolutely necessary. The horrors of war (including the bodybags and casualty lists) serve to remind us of why we fight and why it must be an absolute last resort and never entered into lightly.

Technically it was ok at my university. At least, it was part of the university policy which hadn't been updated for about 50 years. Let me see...page 47.

That's it. I know some of the ROTC guys kept firearms, but that's about it AFAIK. I had a Gurkha hanging on the wall for decoration...or defense.

You guys measure success by how many of your own people get killed.
