Re:Half arsed
They're already making them : Momentum Machines auto-burger robot.
All it needs is someone to feed it ingredients.

Re:You keep saying that word...
I suspect the time will be sooner, rather than later. The example of Eatsa, is still only on the ordering and delivery end. The production end has already shown to be automatable for an increasingly affordable price for businesses. The example of Momentum Machines custom burger production system is 4 years old, I'm surprised it hasn't been rolled to production somewhere already. . .

Re:Well, there go those last remaining factory job
Well, at least don't try to get a job in a warehouse.
Or as a taxi driver.
Or in a restaurant.
crap. Looks like the Robopocalypse is nigh. -
Re:tl;dr
Except that without the burger flippers, I don't see how McDonalds' business model could work.
We'll find out most likely next time the minimum wage goes up. The cooks can be replaced with robots.

Re:Robots per hour
That's already developing in Fast Food, soon to become Automated Food.
Consider the "strike" today for fast food workers demanding a "living wage".
It's practically a prospectus for Momentum Machines, and their Automated Burger Machine. . .

Re:schadenfreude
Hi, I'm a professional roboticist. Here's some super awesome (often deliciously job-crushing) automation systems off the top of my head:
Automated fast food preparation. Yes, that's right. Those jobs are going.
Safe, easily reprogrammable robotic factory line workers. No light curtains. More cost effective than a minimum wage US worker and still improving.
Automated chemical solution preparation. This normally eats up the time of lab researchers using their PhD to essentialy do high school chemistry that's standard grunt work.
Modular biological lab automation systems. Similar to the previous one, this eliminates a bunch of grunt work that lab researchers normally have to do themselves.
More laboratory automation.
A fairly high-end pick and place machine assembling PCBs. Shenzen eat your heart out.
