1998 called. It wants Flash animation back.
Remember Flash animation cartoons?
"The God and Devil Show", from Mondo Media.

And for you Michael Dorn fans out there ...
He gets his own command in the short-lived Flash series Starship Regulars.

Flash vs. its users
Flash itself is really very clever. The player packs an incredible amount of functionality into a very tiny executable. It's only 1.83MB. There's an animation engine, a JIT compiler, a video player, an audio system, and a multichannel download manager.
The problem is what people use it for. Which is mostly either ads or lame web sites.
Nobody really bothers doing Flash animations as entertainment much. If you've never seen one, check out Thugs on Film. Flash games remain popular, although Shockwave, which has full 3D capability, is a far better game platform. Many console games use Flash for 2D interface elements, typically using Adobe's authoring tools but a non-Adobe player. (Yes, there are non-Adobe Flash players.)
But it's not Adobe's fault that the content sucks.

- Shujaat, al-Jazeera's editorial comic.
- Mondo Mini Shows, a holdover from the dot-com boom.

False advertising
Sadly, if you go to the images page, it is apparent that gladiator is not actually all that bloody. It's not a member of the elite class of games where you can hack your opponent's limbs off, for example. There are no explosions, so bits of grizzle don't spray everywhere like in FPS games. No internally bits are ever on the outside. It's not even funny. Where is the violence? The nastiness? Where is the dark foreboding nature of of the world laid bare like scraped flesh covered in dirt and pebbles?
No, what we get is a series of repetitive blood textures added to the grounds around where a traditional penetration damage model is taking place. Nothing new here.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have some Happy Tree Friends to watch. -

I can sum up my opinion in one link FLASH WARNING

It's rare. There are about ten good Flash sites on the web. All the others suck.
Mondo Mini Shows uses Flash well as an entertainment medium. But fighting your way through all the banner ads, popups, Flash menus, and other crap before you get to the shows makes you realize how awful Flash navigation is. Yes, it's really cool that you can have a scrolling menu that scrolls while you're clicking on it, but it's only cool the first time.
