Re:I'm disappointed in Matias. $595 for a keyboard
A while back I wrote a software solution to emulate the Matias half keyboard: http://blog.monstuff.com/archives/000021.html
Because of IP issues, I had to edit out some portions of the code. But it would take about a minute for a coder to make it functional again and compile it.
Additional chords could be added to make specific characters even more accessible (quotes, braces, etc.) and adapted for coding. -
One Handed Keyboard (software)

Re:Canvas!
The demo I was referring to is here, and the idea is that you don't need a handheld device to interpret it, and it works in the browser. There is too much fun to be had for this to be ignored.

13 page review - single page reviewFor those using Firefox, you can use a Greasemonkey userscript to turn this 13 page review into a single page review.
Get more info about the ArsTechnica - Single Page View userscript.
When you load the first page of an article, you can start reading it while the other pages are loaded in the background and appended to the first page's content.

Greasemonkey user script removes "autocomplete"
Here is a Greasemonkey user script (and some more too) to remove that anti-feature:

Try MSN Maps' LineDrive
I don't know about the quality of the routes, but in terms of representation, LineDrive is one of the most useful ones out there.
It basically attempts to draw what you would draw on a paper for a friend: very long distances are shortened, useful landscape marks appear, only the useful street names are listed,...
I posted about LineDrive and pointed to a research paper that explains how it works, a little while back. The entry is available here.
