Re:Pointless if there are no apps.
where are the apps?
Here. -
Re:...really?
It's quite simple:
The most used software of todays computers for most people is the web browser. So having a decent web-browser make AmigaOS much more usable. And for most else it already have good software. Sure it may not be the state of the art for video editing or something such but for everyday use everything is there and people enjoy their old apps I assume.
Origyn Web Browser is a Webkit based browser for MorphOS and AmigaOS4:

http://os4depot.net/share/network/browser/owb.lhaSomeone has obviously made it possible to play Youtube videos from within iBrowse, which atleast back in the day was an Amiga browser not based on any other engine which I know of:
http://os4depot.net/share/network/browser/ib_youtube.lha
iBrowse web page:
http://www.ibrowse-dev.net/
Looks like it got a flash plugin for MorphOS:
http://www.ibrowse-dev.net/news.php?id=1169229504And there exist a PPC-version of AWEB:
http://os4depot.net/share/network/browser/aweb.lhaEnough people use it that they have donated more than 5000 euro to get it ported to that page. I don't know if it handles the donation from the old project which was about the same think, getting a modern browser (gecko) on AmigaOS.

Re:Fanboys
"Windows"
Windows is so slow compared whit OS4, now how many Ghz and how many GBytes for ram do you need to run Vista again?
"hardware available has evolved a lot since then"
New Amiga computers chipsets hardware, PCI, USB, hard drive controllers so your comment is invalid
"ScalaMM and Deluxe Paint were nice and all, but isn't it time to move on?"
They do not work on AmigaOS4, you can run Personal Paint if you most, but way not use Gimp it is ported to AmigaOS4, or 24bit painting program like TV paint, FXPaint.
http://www.os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfil e&file=graphics/edit/gimp_cygnix-src.tgz
ScalaMM is replaced by program called Hollywood now.
"you got an OS which is several years delayed without a computer to run it on. Why oh why?"
There exits a few models, AmigaOne XE, AmigaOne SE, Micro Amiga One, they uses PowerPC G3, G4 600, 800 and 933 Mhz CPU's, the type of CPU you find in older MAC computers from 2000 to 2005, AmigaOne computers are no longer in production, as they are based on the designs from Mai logic, the northbright chip is no longer in productions as chips are buggy and the company designing the chips are no exists.
Now we Amiga fans can only wait for new hardware if we are going to upgrade, just like any other PC user out there :-)
