Not quite correct there. The ATC & Aircraft communication channels are not used for control, and not suitable for control as the bandwidth and channel separation is suitable for voice (and sometimes very low speed data). The frequencies used for UAV control are well outside that band, usually in the satellite communication region, up around 200-500MHZ, and 2.2 to 2.3GHz (around the XM satellite and Radio telemetry ranges) see http://www.pacificsites.com/~brooke/FA.shtml
A 2Mbps downlink is typically required for UAV control and a 10Mbps uplink is required to get the data off the UAV to the ground station. You wont get those data-rates down in the VHF range easily. -

P.S. anyone know where I can get a new battery for it? The battery is an inch wide, 5 inches long & has (IIRC) two lithium cells in it.

Re:Alienware NEEDS a new Director of Marketing!Actually, two identical video cards may not (completely) identical performance. Subtle variances can creep into the various timing crystals and other electronic components that can make them unsynchronized. Two video cards outputting at 60 Hz may start out in sync, but it's virtually guaranteed that over time they will drift out of sync with each other.
As an example, a primary rule of video capture is that you tie yourself to a single timing source. In other words, if you're capturing both video and audio, you don't assume that you're getting 44,100Hz from the sound card, and 29.976 frames per second from the video. If you're going to accept the framerate given to you by the video source, then you calculate the audio bitrate from that, or vice versa.
While you're capturing video output from two video cards, you can not assume the scanlines each produce will be of the same length, or that the cards will remain in sync with each other over any period of time. You can treat one source as a trusted, but the other can not be. You might be getting 60.00000Hz from one video card, and 60.00001Hz from the other. Over the course of 28 hours, the second video card would gain a whole frame over the first one. However, in half that time, the signal would've been 180 degrees out of phase. And that's only using a variance of 0.000017 percent!
Now, I'm no electrical engineer, and I might be incorrect about some of the things I've said, but I'm pretty sure that a 1MHz clock chip isn't always exactly 1,000,000 Hz. There's a couple article son timing crystals here and here. Apparently, age and tempurature can affect the oscillations of these crystals to an extent, as well.

Well Mendocino and its surrounding areas already has its own currency named SEED, for
Self-sufficient Ecological Economic Development.
A SEED is $10, and stands for one hour of labor, raising their minimum wage. From what I read in econ, the stores that support this still pay for tax in the normal dollar.
The idea behind it is to keep money from leaving their community, but this too makes them seem like they are going towards their own island without even leaving... -

My old man was one of the designers of the claw that picked up the Golf class sub, they called the claw "Clementine".
Unfortunately, due to ocean conditions at the time, they grabbed the sub wrong (Ahead of the conning tower.), and it broke in half while raising it.
All the Russian sailors bodies that were recovered, were given full honorable burial at sea, complete with Russian flags, and it was video taped to cover their asses, just in case the cover on this Black Op was blown.
Remember that the cover story was that the legendary Howard Hughes was doing ocean mining for manganese nodules, that are found at great depth in many parts of the worlds oceans.
They actually did some real mining runs as a part of the cover story, I still have several of these very cool manganese nodules, they look like little black cauliflowers.
It's a facinating story of real world spying, and covert operations.
After it was declassified, my father recieved a letter of thanks from the Prez, for his part in it, and a little "plaque".
At least two books were written about it, I read the one my dad had called "A Matter Of Risk" , which is a great story.

don't be so sure !!The real issue in Nuclear power is the true cost of nuclear power. The pro-nuclear power lobby usually hide the hidden costs associated with waste processing, plant life, etc There are plenty of excellent books and reports availabe on this.
Regarding nuclear material sent up with the help of rockets. Already these are widely used as power sources in Spy Satellites and deep space probes. Plenty of information is available. Then there are the UN/international guidelines.
