Why are you ignoring the `conspiracy` sites? It doesn't take rocket science to figure out that they are on to something.
However, some rocket scientists have researched the situation, and clearly show that the `official` story is woefully flimsy. At which point, it would be wise to remember that you are likely being deliberately misinformed. -

The cell-phone story itself is a scam. A K Dewdney tested it; you can't reliably make cell-phone calls in flight - without these new gadgets added to the planes. C'mon, they're waving it right under your nose!

I think it's both hilarious and sad that we're still focusing on terrorists wrt airplanes. They had their chance, and they used it to their great advantage. They'll come at us from a different angle now, knowing that they'll never again surprise us in that particular way.
It's been said that generals always prepare to fight the last war. (Alas, I can't find a definitive cite, although it's quoted everywhere.)I think this is very true -- and that the only action we really need to take is to issue everyone truncheons as they board the plane, and to allow people to bring on their own Bowie knives.
The simple solutions are best. If the problem we're trying to solve is the one of terrorists taking over a plane, well, truncheons-and-knives seems to be a good place to start. Not all this making stuff more complicated and suchlike.
Of course, if the problem we're trying to solve is the one brought up in Ghost Riders in the Sky scenario, or the Operation Pearl scenario, the SoftWalls 'solution' isn't.

3) Your wings will disappear... then you slam into the pentagon and blow up leaving a ridiculously small hole in the side of the building and a very specific and also quite small amount of debris. minus the wings of course.. coz they disappeared... you don't believe me?? -

The likelyhood of these claims being true has been analysed. As of now we don't know whether these are deliberate lies or if the media is so ignorant as to call the $5/minute phones on airplanes "cellphones".
