    Thanks for the mention of the ROCKPro64! I wasn't familiar with it.

    Looks like the 2 GB version is $60 while the 4GB is $80 for a hexa-core SoC CPU and quad-core GPU.

    Specifications for those interested:

    - Rockchip RK3399 hexa-core SOC (CPU)
    - quad-core Mali-T860MP4 (GPU)
    - and up-to 4GB of dual-channel LPDDR4 system memory.
    - USB 3.0 and USB type C
    - DP1.2 port,
    - full PCIe x4
    - eMMC module socket.
    - 40pin header with I2C, SPI, UARTs and GPIOs.
    - ROCKPro64 4GB board designated as LTS (long Term Supply) model, PINE64 committed to supply at least for 5 years until year 2023.

    Only thing seems to be missing is an RTC (Real-Time Clock.) Haven't looked if one is available.

    Someone below mentioned rock64. I'm seconding that one. Actually anything from pine64.org seems to be a good deal.

    One of the nice things about the Raspberry Pi is that it's immune to the Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities because it uses the ARM Cortex-A53 processor.

    Of course, it's not the only company producing computers based on the ARM Cortex-A53. Pine64 is another example. But these sorts of computers seem to be the best option for secure computing that's current available.

    Set-tops, TVs and SBCs .. Fire TVs, tablets, Android phones ..

    Keep in mind that e.g. the ARM Cortex A53 is just a standard. The implementations/manufacturers are pushing bounds on clock speeds, bandwidth, power optimization for incremental improvements between standards.

    I just finished moving to a Rock64 (https://www.pine64.org/?page_id=7147) as my main desktop machine. 4GB RAM, 4x cores, 4k LXLE desktop, media/TV server and 16x drives in two 16TB RAIDZ2 arrays.. and idling at a few watts.. for $50.

    The next big thing that I'm looking forward to is the RK3399 series boards -- https://www.96boards.org/produ... https://www.pine64.org/?page_i...

      -- 6 cores, PCIe, good graphics--fast enough for a great Linux desktop/portable experience. The end result is a build-your-own-Chromebook scenario where you can upgrade and control all aspects like the breakout days of DIY PC builds..

    The Rock64 has all this and more. I have one - 1gb model was $25. Took almost a month for it to arrive in the States but was what I needed - specifically AES decryption in hardware. They have a cool $99 notebook based on a pi-like board too: https://www.pine64.org/
