PSP Site Launches, Launch Titles Confirmed
The Official PSP Website has launched with details on the system and games. GamesIndustry.biz has a list of the PSP Japanese Launch Titles we can expect when the system hits retailers. From the Article: With just over three weeks to go until the PlayStation Portable launches in Japan, Sony has revealed that buyers will have six games to choose from on day one, with around 20 games total due out before the end of December." -
PSP MP3 Support Confirmed
Andrew writes "Sony has confirmed via their TGS system specs page, that the PSP will support MP3 playback. The confirmation comes only a few days after Sony did a u-turn on their Atrac only stance, announcing that all their upcoming music players will also support MP3 media files." -
Sony Turns PlayStation 2 Into DJbox
An anonymous reader writes "Sony Japan has put some more info about its PlayStation 2 DJ mixing software DJbox onto the official site. Check out the three 'Movie' links at the bottom of the page for video of the software in action - there are a few screenshots on other Japanese sites. The software, which allows you to mix and scratch music on your PS2, is released on July 29th as both a standalone PS2 title, as well as a special Premium Kit version including the PlayStation 2 'BB Unit' (hard drive), which is required to save DJbox creations." There's no word on a Western release yet, but this looks like a neat piece of software. -
Ghost In The Shell Game Detailed
Thanks to The Magic Box for new screenshots and details of Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex, as the PlayStation 2 "action shooter", developed by Drag-on Dragoon creators Cavia in conjunction with Production I.G., the makers of the original Ghost In The Shell anime movie and the new GITS: Stand Alone Complex TV show, gets an official Japanese site and brief ASX trailer video. This third-person shooter, unrelated in gameplay to an earlier Ghost In The Shell title for PlayStation 1, has you battling against "illicit arms trades, and... terrorists", and will debut in Japan in March 2004, with a U.S. release as yet unconfirmed. -
