Re:Reddit is down because of this
Popurls has everything!

apart from /.
.. not too many places. Spoonfeed and popurls are great for feeds. Popurls wins IMO because of one cool feature: if a Digg link looks interesting, you can go directly to the article by clicking on the tiny button on the right edge of each link.
P.S. Yet another horrible misuse of enlightenment's icon. Sad. -

There are plenty of other sites just like this. There's popurls, which lists feeds from user-contributed sites like Slashdot along with more formalized sites like Google and Yahoo News. There's Diggdot.us, for Digg, Slashdot, and del.icio.us. There is Xtreme News, which includes Fark and the BBC. And then there is DiggLicious, which has live views of updates from a couple of obvious sites.

Re:Niggling
I like Simpy. It merges bookmarks and deletes redundancy, something most other social bookmarking sites are incapable of. But Simpy was merely an example. What I'm suggesting is this: there needs to be a new way of bookmarking and backing up favorites, which is "integrated seemlessly"(TM) with the browser. There are too many websites out there, and people have too many bookmerks. People complain of information overload and are looking for ways to aggregate (popurls needs to be shoehorned into the conversation somehow) and opera has the desire to bring bookmarking to the next level. So let's do it.

Re:What is worse that a first post?
http://popurls.com./ the best of slashdot, digg, fark, metafilter, google news, yahoo news, del.icio.us, many many more, on one page, well laid out, updated very often, no ads (i think) and basically very cool

Slashdot vs. Digg? why choose?
http://popurls.com/ lists the stories from both digg and slashdot, so you don't need to go to both sites to see what's up. oh yeah, it also lists google news, fark, furl.net, reddit, del.icio.us, metafilter, and other ones i don't know much about. all on a single page that takes less time to load than slashdot or digg. and it updates very often. it's how i found this article, yay. just go there, it's really cool..

Re:Digg is Shit
"Digg could be used as a measure of what the geeks are thinking about today. It's like some kind of social laboratory with nerds as rats and stories as the maze."
if you want more of this, try http://popurls.com/. it has all the most popular front page stories/articles/whatever from digg, del.icio.us, slashdot, google news, reddit, metafilter, fark, furl.net, newswire, etc. all listed elegantly on a single page. no ads or other rubbish, just the internet pulse, updated often. very very cool, in my opinion.
