39 MP? Peanuts!
They haven't done their research. They say Hasselblad is coming out with a 39MP camera, which will be the most megapixels yet. Not by far: The Seitz 6x17 is 160 MP. Granted, it has a maximum shutter speed of 1 second with the full 160MP, but still... It's also huge. I am amused.

Re:I can't see this really working...
This beast should do the trick. A bit bulky to be hiding in the ceiling though.

Re:What is its dynamic range?
Did you look at the surf shot on the homepage? Either that picture is fake, or the camera has insane dynamic range. A normal camera could never capture both the clouds and the foreground and correctly expose both. I think it must be a composite shot. (I'm also skeptical that they could get so many surfers so close together, with two in the air at the same time, but that's another matter...)

Re:Technical Explanation
Just to let everyone know, what this little camera is, is a scanner on its side. Instead of moving a linear CCD sensor back and forth, this is just a linear sensor mounted around a servo. Really basic stuff here.
Plans please. I wish to build my own. On a side note, I've been drooling at some film cameras that kind of do basicly(not all do 360's) the same thing for some time now. Such as the Globuscope , the Widelux and the Russian Horizon, AND of course the Seitz Roundshot.
Of course some has made his own Panoramic cameras in the past. -
