    Just tried some misspellings of slashdot.org...
    • salshdot has a frame redirect to slashdot. Does not seem to be affiliated.
    • .com redirects to .org.
    • slsahdot is a misspelling counter. :-)
    • lsashdot.org, slashodt.org, slashdto.org, slashdot.net, slashdot.info, slshdot.org slshdot.org, slahdot.org, slasdot.org, slashot.org, slashdt.org, slashdo.org, salshdot.com - these are all typosquatters.
    • slashdot.biz - is registered but hasn't even a domain parking site
    • Typosquatters pay attention: slashdot.eu is not yet taken!

    Do you mean Salshdot.org? (Or maybe Slahsdot.org?)

    A while ago, Taco complained about it without mentioning the typo, but lar told the world about it in a comment, another mentioned another, but it would appear the typosquatter gave up on it.

    salshdot.org just uses namezero which gives him a free domain name in exchange for that banner ad. He isn't gaining any profit from that. You should be thankful because this guy is bringing in the people who can't spell to your site.

    The owner of salshdot.org has said that he registered the site in good faith. He didn't put the banner there; NameZero did. He isn't even getting any money for it! So everybody (including Taco) shouldn't be getting his or her panties in a knot.

    My personal favorite is www.salshdot.org. It pulls up the slashdot page in a frame, and has its own banner ad frame at the bottom.

    Seems like almost any simple transposition gets you something:

    slahsdot.org

    salshdot.org

    But lsashdot.org is still available!

    This one's kind of lame - it just wraps www.slashdot.org in its own frameset so that it can show an ad at the bottom. Whois says it's owned by IDIRECTIONS.COM. Anyway, if you feel like giving them a free ad banner hit see http://www.salshdot.org/.
