I tend to believe scientists over Vice
Nice Vice article you got there, shame if something were to happen to your scaremongering... like maybe real scientists saying the effects are not that significant?

Re:What's the point?
Hypnosis, drugs and brain damage... Which ones of those were responsible for the drivel you're spouting?
Most of us, the ones who don't spend our lazy afternoons doing bong hits in our parent's basement, are pretty much aware that we're not in "The Matrix." Ah yes, I know you're using the name of a film as a drop-in for the supposed "virtual reality" that you think we're all living in, but that's just an indicator as to your level and particular brand of insane when it comes to the subject. "The Matrix" is just a movie and I'm sorry to have to break the bad news to you, but the world you inhabit is very real and worse off for having people like you in it. Oh, I can hear you going into keyboard warrior mode already, "but how can you be sure?" Well, that's because some actual research has been done on the subject, and not the stoned, navel-gazing kind you seem to be engaged in.

There you go, actual scientists, not lunatics spouting nonsense like Elon Musk, have looked into it and essentially deemed it an impossibility. But hey, you keep on dreaming that the reason you're an outcast in the world is because "wake up sheeple, we're really in a simulation and none of this matters!"

Re:So what
We all had better start praying to the AI gods now before it's too late.

existence of the WMAP cold spot is doubtful
The so called WMAP cold spot looks to just be some sort of data error and probably does not in fact exist
Too bad because the idea was seriously cool and would have been useful for science fiction.
