Re:Not as cool as...
Url, anyone? I sadly never bookmarked it (shame on me).
I did bookmark it, this is what I have:

Lego Arms Race
I'd like to see this guy go up against a Lego Machine Gun.
I imagine the outcome would be similar to a Civ III game, after you fall out of the tech trading circle. -
Variation: Lego machine gunI built something similar to this Lego Machine Gun once, though his is far prettier than mine was! Self-loading from a gravity-fed magazine of bricks, crank power, internal rubber band.
Quote from page: "I can empty the 17-round magazine in about 1.9 seconds, which translates to a rate of fire of over 500 rounds per minute."

Here's what you build!
This is what you do with BULK LEGOS. Buy tons of bricks and build a LEGO MACHINE GUN for every GI in the US army. This is THE replacement to aging M16 technology!

Re:CGI and ASPLet's take these in reverse order...
No way to escape quotes in a string??? Are you kidding me?
Yup, whoever told you that was kidding. Just use two quotes in a row. The string > becomes:
"He said, ""Why me?"""
ASP is good for really small projects, but trying to do something involved with it is so frustrating.
I'm not going to argue with this, but I will say that it definitely can be done. So far, the worst thing I've done with it was Tic-Tac-Toe. Or here if you want to see the source.

Re:Part of the cyberpunk revolution!!!!!!
"I don't trust that Peacefire is telling the truth,"
I do, and with good reason. I downloaded the data file and decryption tool for their last test (on X-Stop), and found their results to be pretty darn accurate. You can find my results for that one at http://silverlight.org/cray/xstop/ -
MIRROR!
This page is taking a while to load due to slashdotting, so I figured I'd be nice and put up a mirror.
Just so you know, I changed it to an ASP file. This is only so I could add a counter script that I wrote to it. And yes, this means this mirror is being hosted on an NT box. Take that however you will.
Anyway, the mirror is at http://silverlight.org/cray/lego/

Re:Wrist pain
The other wrist pain incident was just after Microsoft came out with their "middle-button wheel" mouse. I made heavy use of the wheel when I first got one of these things, and found that it led to wrist pain (perhaps because rapidly spinning the wheel with the middle finger is a rather unnatural motion).
I got one of the wheelmice, and now I don't know what I'd do without the wheel. You're right, though -- using your middle finger to scroll the wheel is rather uncomfortable.
I found a position (without even trying, it just kinda happened) to hold the mouse that makes it a lot more comfortable. You need to hold it at an angle, like shown here:
http://silverlight.org/cray/wheelmouse.g if
I drew this in MS Paint, gimme a break =PIt may seem a little awkward to get used to at first -- and it probably is -- but once you get used to it, it's realy easy. Up and down motion can be achieved just by pushing and pulling with your fingertips, side-to-side with your thumb and ring finger, and scrolling can be done comfortably with your index finger.
If anybody else tries this and likes it (or already does this) I'd be interested in hearing about it. My email's cray@[domainGivenInURLAbove].org
