    Verifiable security sure, but not practical security. I very much doubt that anybody would notices a wrong SSL certificate, they click 'ok' and continue with whatever they where about to do. You can't verify if an SSL certificate is "wrong" since browsers don't really tell you anything about the certificate.

    As an example, https://slashdot.org/ has SSL. A typosquatter registers https://slasdot.org/ with SSL as well. Since they are both signed, browsers will automatically trust the certificate without letting the user that he encountered the slasdot.org certificate for the first time.

    While the IE7 phishing filter can snag the latter site, it's merely a reactive defence rather than automatically treating new SSL certificates as "new". You don't need an alert box to pop-up, all that's needed is a method of switching a yellow-background address bar to/from a green-background address bar on a per-certificate basis. You could even do the same to non-SSL sites as well on per-DNS/IP/Subnet basis.

    * Making up two completely unrelated and inapplicable analogies;
    * Using "l3375p33k" in your nickname;
    * Butchering well-known English spelling, capitalization, grammar, and punctuation rules; and
    * Being an all-around dufus.

    And right up there with Spammers in my opinion.

    You have to be a born Devil's Advocate to think that cybersquatting is a legitimate activity. The sole reason these %$#$ers register a popular product's name or every possible mispelled variation of those names is to catch the unwary and attempt to separate them from their money.

    Why do you think that slahdot.org, slasdot.org & slshdot.org all have such a strangely familiar name and all lead to a bogus "search the web" sites? Coincidence, right?

    Good on the UK court system for taking away the iTunes.co.uk domain away from that low life and I hope it sets a precedent that helps to rid the web of more squatters. We're not talking about someone registering "Romance.com" and making a profit from a legitimate foresight, we're talking about the act of a premeditated parasite.

    Blah. Do you mean this formula? Don't try to paint the trolls as the problem with moderation. You know and I know that it's uber-zealots on this page that mod shit down. Come on, in my other accounts (that are well known by the trolls) I get overrated all the time. Since I am a troll why would they do this? Simple. They aren't. Why don't you just admit that you and enoch are a couple of losers who have absolutely no life outside of Slashdot. And now that people have gotten sick of your regular postings, you are strutting around pretending to be trolls.
