    Be realistic, most jobs contribute in their way. If everyone researched cancer, we'd all starve to death and swim around in our sewage. If people didn't have a few moments to sit back and relax with a book or a show, we'd all be the poorer for it -- not just in quality of life but how often does it happen that a random thing seen or read, of no apparent value, will spark an important thought? Ms. Baker will be teaching people how to make movies or videos. That has value, just as the farmer growing food, or the plumber fixing toilets, or the researcher solving a cancer puzzle, each have value in their own way. Everything is inter-related and inter-dependant.

    Well, no, but dude, I linked you to an academic journal. So your point is slightly lost on me. Is it, and this is just a guess, I'm right and anyone who disagrees with me is dumb, or excluded from validity in some arbitrary way, because I'm *right*, dammit ?

    Because that's always fun! And useful! :/

    Those sites are talking about lots of things, not just saying "Wheddon [sic], why do you make me cry! I love you!", which is what you said you had mostly encountered.

    And now we're to believe that a TV show, from the Dubbya-Bee no less, about a teeny bopper girl who hunts boogeymans is somehow the 'best written show' on television? It's a fucking live action Scooby Doo, with Sarah Michelle Gellar stepping in to play the dog.

    On the contrary, Buffy is a very nerdy subject. If you haven't noticed the intellectual side, you might check out The Online International Journal of Buffy Studies. I mean they've got PHDs writing papers about the show, for crying out loud.
