Re:BitTorrent is nice.
Actually, most of the big torrent sites already publish via RSS. Combined with a specialized reader or script (available on http://tvt.milfclan.com/ or http://torrents.co.uk/) or mythtv http://mythtv.org/ It is pretty much fully automatic. Granted, most of these solutions require using regular expressions, so it's not entirely foolproof.

Re:Size of HDTV?Um you're quite wrong. It's mp3 audio, not 5.1, but other then that it is full HDTV resolution.
The reason is that when compressing video, doubling the resolution does not double the file size, in fact it only increases it marginally. (For good codecs anyway. mpeg2 aka svcd, and mpeg1 aka vcd, are not. mpeg4 AKA xvid AKA divx are.)
And since the source signal is very clean and free of hard-to-compress artifacts, and because it's very clean and the next frame is very similar to the previous frame so very little has to be encoded just the difference, you get stellar compression.
You end up with a picture that is far far better then anything you can get using analog - even cable. And it's 350MB for 42 minutes of video.
I much prefer to download all my tv shows since they look so much better then cable, but my upload is limited and since with bittorrent you have to upload everything you download, I don't have the bandwidth (yet) to download everything. But I download whenever I miss a show for example, or if two shows are on at the same time. And half hour comedies since they are pretty small.

A good advancement, but not a totally new trick
Torrents.co.uk also publishes an RSS feed of new shows, and has several links to auto-downloaders. These other downloaders don't bolt onto a PVR, which is a nice feature, but it is worth remembering that many trackers already have RSS feeds and there is _some_ software already out there.

Well,
I guess I could turn it off and just bittorrent the tv shows.

BitTorrent makes a great TiVo replacement too!
Check out this site, for TV episodes through BitTorrent. Did you miss the latest Simpsons episode? What about Smallville? Well, just download them!
This brings up a point about BitTorrent. It is great for popular recent files, with a file size greater than 100MB. For smaller, or more rare, or older files, use one of the other P2P technologies.
