Yeti Sportsat least the early ones, are typical one click two click type games, and moderately addictive
otherwise, maybe some of the text based adventure games, or even something like the old Trade Wars on Telnet, or webified versions.
These are meant to be safe suggestions, as I imagine that things that require fancy key combos and timing might be frustrating
Trade Wars was/is an excellent strategy type game. (old style graphics, tho)

;-)You can sometimes still play it online, often via telnet:
The Home Sector: Lots of Tradewars news.

tradewars.org: Tradewars news, links, and more.
EIS Online: The current owners of Tradewars 2002, the best known Tradewars clone. They also market Tradewars Gold and and the Tradewars Game Server for online play. TradeWars 2002 is up to version 3

Tradewars 2002
Tradewars 2002 and Tradewars Gold(?) I think are still alive and well. I couldn't find a main site for Tradewars 2002 but I did find this
looks like there is a new MMORPG/RTS on the block with elements of Tradewars in it. -
Tradewars: Dark Milennium MMORPG
Any old-timers who played Tradewars 2002 should take a mosey on down to tradewars.com and browse the screenshots and forums for the new game in development, named Tradewars: Dark Milennium. Hopefully, by this summer, we should have a AWESOME space game will be reborn into this new genre. I can't wait.

Re:Crackheads, its payday!
Star Wars Galaxies will be cool, but I'm personally waiting for the MMORPG of Tradewars. It's supposed to be out in 2002 sometime, and there will be a Linux version (Shortly after they release the Windows version of course).

Re:So what's the quantative limit for 2 M's?Ultima Online and Everquest boast 'massively multiplayer' because any number of users could theoretically connect to the same online game.
'Massively multiplayer' doesn't apply to the text based games such as TradeWars and MUDs because those have always allowed any number of users to connect.
I think the confusion here is caused by your memory. Tradewars 2002 was a text based, trade oriented BBS RPG. The new game being proposed will be a Graphical game. It won't be text based anymore. You'll pilot CGI ships instead of extended ASCII characters.
As far as their "Massively Multiplayer" designation (which I won't comment on) I'll quote from the FAQ:
What type of game will Trade Wars: Dark Millennium be?
Trade Wars: Dark Millennium will be a massive multiplayer online game. It will combine both role-playing and real-time strategy elements in a persistent world where players can trade, form alliances and build empires.
What are your expectations for the size of the game?
Realm hopes to have hundreds of thousands of people in the persistent game world. The universe will be partitioned into shards of several thousand people.
Now... I've never played everquest, but hundreds of thousands of people playing in a universe, seperated into small galaxies of >10,000 people... sounds pretty large scale to me.

Even the colors make me nostalgicI just love the fact that the ships in the new Trade Wars game (in particular this picture) all seem to be painted liberally in shades of LIGHTCYAN, LIGHTBLUE, LIGHTRED, LIGHTGRAY and DARKGRAY, just like the original ships. I get the feeling I'll be having flashbacks the entire time I play this game once it comes out.
Yes, I admit it. Trade Wars cost me as many grade points in high school as Civ did in college.
