Re:Not a bad dealThe other thing I've noticed, and I'm curious... according to the most recent census, what's the ratio of minority populations in the Seattle/Redmond area?
According to this University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire study, it seems that 4.8% of the population in Seattle is black. (Total of 13.5% minority population...) Mix that with the amount of minority population in the Technology sector, and 1.2% still seems awfully low.

Morse 2000 Outreach
Morse 2000 Outreach is a great organization, dedicated to the use of Morse code as an enabling technology with those of limited mobility. I highly recommend them as a resource.

Re:Origin of "Robot" clarification - A bit moreThe term "Robot" was coined by Karel Capek (or possibly his brother), an author, for his 1922 Broadway hit, "Rossum's Universal Robots." (He actually wrote it in 1920, but opened in New York in 1922.)
An interesting play dealing with some of the Frankenstein issues of the Robots taking over the world. The "robots" are not mechanical, but biological and can not be easily distinguished from humans.

Forget BerstNotice how they keep Berst tucked away on the web. Print mags still look at the web as being where they can dump shit and nobody'll notice it, or if they do they won't be expecting much.
Normally I'd slam ZD here, but we just got ZDTV and they've actually got some Linux devotees. In fact, I saw a show a few weeks back where they ran through the install process(!) on the Screen Savers. They talk about Linux all the time, had Gasse on last night... ZD finally doing something right.
Off subject, but join the people who will never trust Toshiba again since they won't uphold their basic contractual obligations (re: EULA) here: http://acm.cs.uwec.edu/~mizesh/openletter.html
