Re:Please, sir.
It's actually not a fabulous screen. It's an awesome screen for the money(which is why I went front projection, huge image, great quality, and lower cost apart from the bulbs) and I'm amazed at what the surface does for my picture quality(like, we laugh at TV prices at best buy when they're running HD content picture quality), and the nigh invisible waves(oh, they're there, but you can't see them apart from a very slight keystone effect in the upper right-hand corner) non-tensioned.
Optoma Panoview Greywolf screen.
AVS Forums link for the old model. Good price on it over at Visual Apex92", 106" 120".
Also good in that price range is the Da-Lite Hipower.
I can snap some pictures for you if you want. -

Re:Will this bring prices down?
> Unfortunately up until this point the plasmas have been slightly more in my price range for the size I am looking for.
Have you checked www.visualapex.com?
Note: I'm a happy customer, so I'm rather biased, but they were able to take care of my needs when ordering the Plasma last year.

Re:Simple works-for-me HD DVR shopping list
Panasonic 42" 7UY Plasma ($2200)
Um, if you're going to create an HD shopping list, wouldn't it make sense to have a display that can display full-HD resolution?
At the same site you linked to, there's one for about a grand more:
Panasonic TH-42PHD6UY -
Simple works-for-me HD DVR shopping list
A reasonable HD DVR Shopping list:
DirecTV HD-Tivo ($900)
Panasonic 42" 7UY Plasma ($2200)
Onkyo HTS-760 6.1 Receiver/Speakers ($350)
I have this setup and I am very happy with the result. The key, IMHO, is to find a display that does a good job of cleaning up regular 'ol 4:3 NTSC signals so you the 80% of your channels that are not HD still look good enough, if not stunningly great like HD content does. Every nice display can do HD content justice, but not every nice display can do SD content justice. -
Re:Best HT projector dealers?I've been on the fence too long, and am about to fall off and buy one. Dealers with good reputations and reasonably good prices include:
You can also go to Pricegrabber to do competetive price lookups.
I finally got my boss to order one yesterday. He bought a Sony HS-10 from RitzAV. By the time I jump (January), it will be between the Sony HS-10/HS-20 and the Panny LT300/LT500. My choice will depend on projector model availability, price, and my mood.
You may want to spend some time trudging through comments at AVS Forum to get some feedback on various projectors and dealers. And search the specific forums using the keyword "shootout" if you'd like some good comparative reviews.

Um, no. I paid $3300 from Visual Apex 6 months ago. And it's down to $2800 now for a 42PWD
Do some research instead of name-calling, please.
> And I'm sure if you live in an apartment, your neighbors will love the rumbling bass and subsonics...
I *gasp* asked my neighbors, when the best time to watch movies were. Most said, they don't care.
In the past 6 months, the upstairs neighbor has only asked me once, to turn it down. They are are usually gone Friday nite, and Saturday, anyways, so I get to watch at full volume on those days. =P
The rest of the time, you DON'T need to watch a movie at full volume anywas to enjoy it.
