EA is going to lose more money...
Anyone who has looked at the http://www.westwood.com/ site lately can easily see its forwarded to eagames.com's domain and has pages which are 90% broken, latter rankings dont work, clan management is broke, the Official Renegade site isn't even finished! Its been in this condition for a while now. EA is leaving all their servers for all the older C&C Games in a 'as-is' state. And Renegade falls into this category while the game still has serious bugs to be patched. If they think they are going to sell more titles on their new-trashed westwood they are crazy. EA is starting to join the pool of lazy companys that stops supporting your game 90 days after you buy it. Which I regret to see, as they were one of the good companys to get games from up there in rankings with Blizzard, Volition, and Valve.

Re:Don't Forget
C&C Renegade was an interesting game that I still enjoy from time to time. EA/Westwood used something on the discs for Renegade as well as Emperor: Battle for Dune that stopped the disc from launching setup in a number of DVD drives. It only seemed to be DVD drives, and at the time all I had was a DVD-ROM.
While in the case of Emperor Battle for Dune they released a fix, there wasn't one for Renegade. I had to use means that in a world where backup copies are illegal, that may not have been just that, legal. Even thought I paid money for this game and I continue to support the game companies. There are times when you need a backup copy.

Dune and HHGTTG.
I think Frank Herbert will still be read 50 years from now, since Dune has been/is being used for games and Television series etc.
Who knows, maybe we'll even see a new Dune movie.
On the lighter side, I think Douglas Adams' Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy will still be read, with tears of laughter stream out of peoples eyes in 2051. -
Westwood CEO demos the game in this video...
ftp://ftp.westwood.com/pub/emperor/previews/video
/ EMP_LC_INTERVIEW.EXE
It uses Blink for video, so you will need Windows to watch it! The CEO shows the game to us. I thought it was nicely done. He explains what the game will be like, did a few gameplays, etc. I would like to see more game companies do this. A little demo...
Note: The screen size is very SMALL, but it is still worth viewing. :)

Blade Runner - The GameIf you haven't already, I would *highly* recommend the Blade Runner Game by Westwood Studios.
I must say, this game has incredible graphics, and it recreates the environment and locations from the movie 100% faithfully. Plus, the game requires thought - definitely a plus.
I picked up this game for about $15 at a Wal-Mart, and was absolutely amazed at the graphics, as well as gameplay. And comparing everything from tiny details like the lens flares, down to the audio and the score side by side with the movie.....let me just say you will be quite pleased.
Spend the $15 or $20 and pick up this game if you're a fan of the movie. It's definitely well worth it.
