Re:I've often wondered about this
Just fuck off. None of those websites are making anything uo:
Lifeway issued a statement saying stores will be pulling the remaining copies of the book from stores.
“LifeWay was informed this week that Alex Malarkey has retracted his testimony about visiting heaven as told in the book “The Boy Who Came Back from Heaven.” Therefore, we are returning to the publisher the few copies we have in our stores.”
https://wgntv.com/2015/01/16/b...
Thursday evening, Todd Starowitz, public relations director of Tyndale House, told The Washington Post: “Tyndale has decided to take the book and related ancillary products out of print.”
On Friday afternoon, Tyndale released this statement: “We are saddened to learn that Alex Malarkey, co-author of ‘The Boy Who Came Back from Heaven,’ is now saying that he made up the story of dying and going to heaven. Given this information, we are taking the book out of print.”
https://www.washingtonpost.com...
And direct from the publisher's website:
Since 2010, Tyndale House Publishers has been the publisher of The Boy Who Came Back from Heaven—the story of Alex Malarkey, a six-year-old boy who was in a horrific auto accident that left him in a coma for two months. When he awoke from the coma, he related to his parents that angels had taken him to the gates of heaven. Tyndale has been saddened to hear that Alex is now saying that he made up the story of dying and going to heaven. This was the first time Tyndale had been told that Alex fabricated the story. We were alerted to his public statement on January 14, 2015, and have since confirmed Alex’s retraction with his father, Kevin Malarkey.

Now please tell me how quotes directly from the book's publisher are now fake, too.

Re:How WE stopped SOPA??!
You don't understand. The noise had to come from Google, et al for it to be taken seriously. Google was just doing regular PR for a particular audience of "young people". The game is extremely transparent, but sure, let's take the perceived "winnings" any way we can, right? Nothing gets big without lots of money, doesn't matter whether it's a military or a human/civil rights crusade. Think of the "terrorists" fighting the Brits in North America. They weren't poor rats, were they? No, they were a bunch a rich bastards who didn't want to pay their debts for services rendered, those being protection from the natives, and transportation of supplies and "labor", among other things, like more females to keep the colonies well stocked.
The "movement" is a sham. Big money poisoned it, like it does everything. Civil rights has become "Social Justice", more bullshit you'll never see. The "New Black Panther Party" is exactly opposite of the original, of community, family, and, self defense from rogue arbitrary authority of a tyrannical majority. Those guys were heroes, they stood up and fought back. This is today's generation!

Re: San Bernadino all over again
Surprisingly it turns out that geese aren't the only thing that travel in flocks.
https://www.salon.com/2013/01/11/who_killed_keith_ratliff_youtubes_gun_nut_celeb/ - the guns, they do nothing.
http://wgntv.com/2014/11/26/mom-shot-and-killed-by-her-toddler-son/ - well, yes, they do.

Re:Guns actually protect people
Whether I post as AC or log in is completely irrelevant to the substance of my post. It's an ad hominem attack, that actually weakens your argument. You've gone out of your way to call me a liar, even though you don't cite any sources to back up your claims. It's no fun to try to write a constructive post, only to have a tough guy launch personal attacks and call me a liar.
Let's get down to the substance of what you've said. The fact is, 60% of illegal guns seized in Chicago originated in other states. The largest portion of those are from Indiana, accounting for 19% of illegal guns in Chicago. And unlike you, I'll cite a source here: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2015/10/28/lax-indiana-gun-laws/74740388/. Over a period of six years, 3,824 illegal guns originated in Indiana and were used for crimes in Chicago. I have a source for that, too: http://wgntv.com/2014/09/03/indiana-guns-favorite-of-chicago-gangbangers/. And yes, it is illegal, but it's still very easy for guns purchased in Indiana to end up in Chicago.
So how about you come back and discuss facts instead of calling someone a liar and making ad hominem attacks. Your post is disingenuous, and I've cited sources with facts that prove it.

Re:Why?
If the business is in a high crime area, the police will not respond with any type of expediency.
In Chicago, they might not even respond at all.
I suspect that they want to get pictures of the crooks to turn over to the police or to release to the news.

Re:extended periods unavoidable with crowds
You obviously haven't been tasered before, doesn't hurt at all. Just debilitating. Like losing control of your body or something. It's a very odd feeling. But the sound and speed of the weapon makes it scary. You are afraid of something you don't understand, Mr. AC.
I'm sure we can all agree with you that it doesn't hurt at all.
