When you start making it "OK" to silence people you disagree with or disapprove of, it opens the doors for people who disapprove of you, or disagree with your views to silence YOU.

We make the acts of discrimination illegal. Not the idea. People are entitled to their own beliefs, even if those beliefs cannot be substantiated with evidence. We counter this with being allowed to hold our own beliefs, which we attest are substantiated with evidence.

When you start telling people that they must believe the same way that you do, you are perpetrating the same crime that religious authority figures commit when they go on holy wars and crusades.

Cause that is what the "argument" that "Microsoft cannot feasibly continue to support Windows XP indefinitely" boils down to - nonsense.

Why can't they support it? Is it the technological ability? Did they fire everyone who knew how to code? Who made those other, "safe", products then?
Is it that they can't release secrets about their obsolete products to new staff? What?

Other than "it costs XY dollars to do ZQ fix", which other reason could there be?
He even suggests spending money on new Microsoft, Apple or Linux products (free as in pay for training and new hardware infrastructure including hiring or retraining your support personnel) - as only possible solution.

So clearly... money is the issue. And the solution.
When a company spends it - it's an issue.
When customers spend it - it's a solution.

So, just as clearly, it's not the customer's money but company's money that's precious here.
Microsoft's, Apple's... whoever. People should save money to companies that sell them products.
Customers should just shut up and switch to new software (and hardware to run it) already and support the economy by doing their duty as customers - by spending money.

There is no premise. There is a counterexample. One guy said one cosmological theory with sound math behind it puts the words GAME OVER to the debate about god, so anybody who brings a god again into the discussion deserves to be punched.
I made an example of a universe without intervention and freedom which is still not godless. I made another more general example in another comment where proving that the universe arises from complete nothingness AND that no other way for the universe to exist is rational, would be a great achievement for science but still not sufficient because the assumption that what is inconceivable for us is meta-inconceivable everywhere, even in the scope of universes' creation.

A counterexample is not an assumption, it is the exploration of a particular case to see whether an assumption somebody else made has any worth. Picking a particular case assumes all other things do not happen, but that is not an assumption because we are not ending up with an implication. If you read my comment like it is a proof, it is your problem.

Whitehead and Copleston sounds like a good name combination for alcohol related products BTW.
