Speeding KDE Application Startup
Philippe Fremy writes: "After the Poll on what kde needs in priority suggests speed is an area of improvement, Core kde developer Waldo Bastian has written
an paper where he explains why a C++ (or Kde) application is slow to start and how the community could improve that."
I'll wager that even half of the Slash editors never see the pages not appearing on the front page. Hence this very recent duplicate.
I sure hope they improve the speed. On my computer (PII 400) it takes the DAMN CALCULATOR 5 seconds to start-up. There's not really any excuse for that.
However, I would like to thank the KDE Team for an otherwise wonderful desktop environment. If they can fix the speed problems, KDE will be one step closer to perfection.
I KNOW I'm right. And if I'm not, I'm STILL right...
