Israelis Turn Human Stem Cells Into Heart Cells

andres32a writes "Seems like israeli scientists have been able to grow heart cells from human embryonic stem cells. This is a big deal considering that the adult heart has no regeneration capacity and that heart attacks are a major killer. Meanwhile President Bush is just starting to consider whether to permit federal funding of research involving human embryonic stem cells. The story is here."

    Of course Bush is starting to consider it. It is a *mayor* killer now, it could evolve to a presidential killer soon.

    Wow, regenerating heart cells... if anything this oughta convince Dick Cheney that stem cell research is worth it...
