Ricochet Modems == Wireless LAN?

Wanna cripple slashdot? Just run the following code. (It's adapted from here, which is a bug report that includes a script as a proof of concept. I took out the sleep, and changed it to make 20,000,000 user accounts instead of just 20.) Why should we cripple Slashdot?

• It lies to us. Editors don't pay attention to the headlines that people who have actually read the article submit, but rather make their own, often completely unfactually.
• It ignores our requests. We still don't have a submission bin we can vote on, and there are numerous issues that the editors simply refuse to accept. Read the entirety of any mature (> 2 days old) article's message thread and you'll find plenty of example from irate "trolls" pointing out the ways in which Slashdot are fascist bastards.
• It censures and punishes people. There is the bitchslap. There is this Hemos posts in response to this. Oh, "We deemed the shared source to be more important", so we mod'd (read: censured) certain posts down with the -1's. I have another link to give you, but it was never archived (read: destroyed forever) because Hemos decided to put it to -1, since it wasn't in the "public interests" at the time. Hmmmm.
• etc, etc, etc.

What is there to do about it? This is our way of showing slashdot that we're pissed.
Run the code and hit slashdot where it counts: make the servers slow to a crawl until issues are resolved.
When do we stop?
When CmdrTaco replies to any of these threads, and says

• He apologizes for the previous fascism of Slashdot.
• He is willing to implement changes just because users want them.
• He is willing to run polls using the built-in powers of Slashcode and to post a slashdot entry directing people to the polls, just so he can find out what's important to us.
• He is willing to have his team code the necessary changes, and make the necessary changes to policy also, such as
• No more bitchslapping, ever.
• No manually changing the points a thread is at. Let moderators do it.

Then, we can stop showing Slashdot that its fascism is unacceptible.
