Old Distributions?

All I could find so far is some loose packages, but not a downloadable ISO image. For RedHat 4.2 and older, Conectiva Linux 1.0, ... it is impossible to find. So I ask myself is there a centralized place taking care of this, for public use and even preservation of the Linux History and evolution? We have lots of places with ISO images, like linuxiso, however these sites just keep with recent distributions."

    I can't get to the ftp.slackware.com site from work, but I do know that on some of the public mirrors they go as far back as slack 3.3 (with a 2.0.x kernel) I think on the main slack site, you can get even further back.

    Slack is GOOD, and good for you.

    I've got some old CDs of various distributions. I don't really know off the top of my head what versions of libc they use, but if anyone is interested in any of them, contact me and we'll figure out how to get you the ISO.

    They are:

    1. Caldera Open Linux version 1.3 (1988)
    2. Storm Linux "Rain" release (Debian based)
    3. TurboLinux Server v 4.0
    4. Debian/GNU Linux 1.2
    5. Slackware 96
    6. RedHat 4.0
