Case Tweaking
A reader writes "I don't know what they were smoking, but these guys decided that the G4 case makes for a great LAN party box. Of course, without the G4 and all that yucky Mac hardware -- just the aesthetics. They go about hacking and modding the case, turning a low power (aka, weak) x86 box and toss it into the G4 casing, and don't end up destroying the case to make everything fit. Lotsa pictures and explanations of every step in the process"
1) Windows weenies must be the biggest fucking hypocrites on the planet... they always deride Apple products as "toy-looking," and then go and stuff a gamerz rig into a G4 case.
2) I'll be more than happy to give a home to that "yucky Mac hardware" that was left when they finished violating the G4.

yeah, but who would WANT to do that? its practically sacrilege to strip the perfect system from its gorgeous box and replace it with a x86 system. it'd be like stripping everything from a Viper (racing car) but the chassy and outside, and replacing the guts with that of a Ford Pinto!

It has come to our attention that you have violated our computer cases by installing x86 motherboards. This behavior is somehow (not sure yet, but we can prove it in court!) no allowed by the DMCA. You will stop installing x86 systems in our case as they MIGHT, possibly appear to run faster than our current boxes.

Gee, that's the dumbest mod I've ever heard of. While they're at it, maybe they can put a Ford Aspire engine into a BMW 740i. Anyway, thanks, Slashdot, for bringing us such important and relevant news items.
I feel sorry for the guys at [H]ard | OCP, they never have gotton the recognition they deserve for the work they do. This story is old news there now, and I'm fairly certain it's been slathered all around the web several times over.
The computer modification sub-culture works on mass email news notification to get it's news content on a daily basis. There's a crew of web monkeys that recieve all the email submitted to there news mailing address, decide what's fit, and post about it on there site. [H]ard|OCP is one of the forefathers when it comes to this, and even the modification scene.
Even the guys at Virtual-hideout.net, who got slashdotted a good while back, respect the guys at [H] but have you seen a posting mentioning [H]? No, I'm damn certain you haven't.
I hope you people will take a moment to go visit [H] and give them a little of the recognition they deserve. Scroll down and I'm damn well sure you'll see there linkage to this exact same article. Hell [H] will be so brave as to give you an idea of the content instead of some fuck-wad Slashdot poster who is too fucking blind to give a damn about any thing aside from sucking bill gates cock, I mean, Windows. Or Linux, but really, how many of you here today are running linux? I'm not, I've been there, enjoyed my visit and I may come back to it later on.
And yes this is a bit of a rant, please I mean no offense to any bill gate cock sucking Slashdot'ers or the Linux warriors/etc. I've been up far to long.

Uhm, these G4s (and the G3s) are in what are pretty much ATX cases. Big deal. Add some screw posts, lengthen some cabes, and tada! You've made a G4 that's worth about $150. Good freakin' job.
