Stem Cell Research Moves Forward In The US
maniacdavid writes "President George Bush has finally made a clear and final decision on stem cell research. He will allow the existing 60 cell lines to continue their development in the hopes of curing a disease. He said the choice was difficult because of his stand on against stem cell funding during his campaign. But he allowed the 60 to continue because the choice between life and death was already made. This is good for both sides and many people are pleased. " Granted, there's the issue of these 60 lines viability, but at least it's not a total federal funding ban, as was widely expected. As well, there's increased funding on stem cells obtained from adults, umbilical cords, placentas and animals - 250$US million this year, which is still a pittance when you consider the potentials of stem cells.
"science also was sure that the Earth was the center of the universe and that the world was flat"... no dumbass, SCIENCE tried to prove the earth was not flat, the FUCKING CHURCH and other DAMNABLE institutions tried to suppress the fact that the earth was indeed round... now go crawl back under your rock.
:)
you're winner!!
no...
FIRST!
I think we need to put a major effort into increasing the amount of fetuses made available to science by urging, no DEMANDING that women get abortions if they are under age. These children grow up in crappy homes anyway... might as well use them for good science eh? ;-) (yes, I'm being sarcastic.)
So Texas is the US version of Quebec?
When it gets a job & moves out of the house.
He sure knew more than Al Gore did. He just looks like a dope, but his decisions and politics show he is not.
Now if you want to talk about a person "illegitimately holding office", let's talk Tom Daschle. Now here's a guy serving as Senate majority leader only after a senator switched party affiliation AFTER his election; a switch which his constituents had no voice in.
What a relief... more signs of intelligent life... thanks! i mean it, really.
oh i don't know... you seem pretty goddamned ignorant if not downright fucking stupid, asshole... fuck YOU and your goddamned fucking scumsucker dubya dipshit
Yes, proto-fascist... that would be YOUR dubya... compassion, my ass. The man is abominable.
when does a Jewish mother consider a fetus viable?
when it graduated from medical school.
Compare this to all the vacation fun Clinton had inside the Oval Office.
thought texas tried that once? great then texas can inbreed even more, or be taken over completly by hispanics :-)
you can keep the cess pool you call the lone star state
All you guys who turn Bush's name into "Dubya" are just like the ones who called Clinton "Slick Willy" 8 years ago. Partisan dopes.
That looked just like one of Ivens' columns: insults and rage.
Apparently you have no concept of what a Presendential working vacation is.
Especially compared to Al Gore, who thought you could improve people's lives by taxing the hell out of them, and that you could improve racial harmony by treating people differently depending on their skin color.
I believe you folks tried seccession before. As I remember it did not work out for you your sorry butts then. The next time we should handle reconstruction better, by shooting all the southern scum and repopulating the place with people that (1) think; and (2) don't have sex with goats.
Don't forget, Al Bore's own home state did not even vote for him. It would be unfair to them to install their own local favorite slumlord son as cheif executive.
Just think about it, if Gore could have got his own lousy state for him, Florida would have been a moot point.
Come on, where is a good Bush cocaine joke about the "60 lines" ?
there are signs of intelligent life on this planet... your post is one of those signs... on the other hand, to call dubya a stinking scumbag is an insult to all the decent stinking scumbags out there...
