There is a directly conflicting, per-existing patent for stem cell research. Doesn't the patent office even read their own site [uspto.gov]?
Um. Yeah. The Jew lobby? What about the middle-class white male Christian lobby, or any of countless other groups? There are many influential groups. Why would you single out this one group? I agree that per capita Jews probably have more influence in the U.S. than non Jews, but they also work to get themselves educated so they can make such a difference. This sort of anti-semitism goes back to old west towns, where the mayors were often Jewish. Why? Because nobody else knew how to read. Jews elsewhere in history were targeted, because a lot of people owed them money. Why? Because the Christians had laws against collecting interest on a loan. Ok, my point: Jews are people. You're a person. You both have a fundamental right to exist, to progress, and to work to make a difference. Get along. Otherwise, you'll get what you deserve: living in your own bitterness.

anti-semitism goes back a very long way. Much longer than the old-west. You could argue that it goes back as long as the Jewish people exist.
Although Christians and churches have been guilty of anti-semitism, most modern bible-true Christians are not anti-semitic in that sense. I've heard this verse being used as a warning to Christians not to be anti-semitic:
Numbers 24:9 says
"Like a lion, Israel crouches and lies down; like a lioness, who dares to arouse her? Blessed is everyone who blesses you, O Israel, and cursed is everyone who curses you."
Unfortunately you can't use this verse against these white-supremacist-anti-semits because they believe the Jewish people as we know them today are not the true Jews, they believe they (white Aryans) are the true Jews and are the chosen ones etc. Off course this is pretty stupid but besides that there are plenty of verses in the bible condemning the kind of hatred they exhibit.
Something funny happened a while back, I was bored and I went to one of these white-supremacist chatrooms. I logged on as "Black" (Everyone else had nicks like snow-white or snow or stuff like that), I immediatly got questions about whether I am white or not (which I am) so I started explaining that I am white. Finally I had them convinced that I was white (even one of their leaders has a last name "Black"). Then I started asking the wrong questions and got kicked out of the room. I logged on again but with the nickname "white". Off course they caught on but the funniest thing I heard them say in their confusion was :
"White is Black"
To which I replied of course: "White is Black is white !"
That got them and I was kicked of. All in all I was shocked though by the amount of hatred going on there. I had never personally been in contact with people that hate anyone that much and I never realized it was really possible. It was a really shocking experience for me although the stuff about black being white was quite funny.
