HP To Sell Custom High-Security GNU/Linux Distro

bc90021 writes: "CNET has this story about Hewlett Packard's new secure version of Linux. Using 2.4.2, it can supposedly detect attacks as they happen. (At $3,000, I think it should counter-attack, too.) It will be available on HP servers (duh), or on servers that pass the RedHat 7.1 server qualification tests."

      Maybe this was to fend off first posters. IMHO, it sucks. Even if you're not a troll, you could still prefer your poast being listed as #42 rather than #2203522.

    Seriously, I don't give a crap about a distro---except that it might help Linux marketshare overall. But who gives a rats ass if their bleedin' distro doesn't integrate legacy drivers---FOR THEIR OWN DAMN PRINTERS?!?

    Amusing Conspiracy Theory

    I find it funny that people think that the comment numbering thing was done to prevent first posts. We don't care about first psts. They're lame, but they get moderated down so whatever. The new comment numbering is a blessing and a curse. Yeah its a little harder to find context, but now people won't have problems remembering stories *and* comments. Plus it makes comment retrieval one primary key lookup so its faster then having it be dual key (sid,cid). Especially considering sid was a *string*. So slow. Ah well, I've learned. The best conspiracy theorist was the guy who thought we did it so we can delete comments without people knowing. Man, some people think way further ahead then me. But thanks for giving me the idea.
