Progeny Debian Halts The NOW Project
nicedream writes "Debian Planet is reporting that Progeny is killing the NOW project. " A reader also submitted the actual e-mail from Ian Murdock ? . It appears that the current economic climate has had an adverse effect on Progeny - which is not surprising. Ian's also got some musings on the state of computing/networking, which outline some of the thoughts behind the NOW project.
This only goes to show that open source development is a dead-end.
Windows XP beta blows Linux 2.6, whenever it will ready, out of the water *NOW* and will continue to improve. At the time Linux 2.6 is released, Windows will be even farther ahead of it.
Just get it into your skulls that the open form of development is doomed to fail against the market. Companies like Microsoft, with thousands of hard working, dedicated fulltimers are deemed to prevail over a bunch of communists trying to recreate an ancient operating system with an arcane command set. This goes especially for Linux considering its cancer-like licensing issues.
I can only recommend you guys to stop using dead-end operating systems and start using something that's ready for the future.
a little essay I wrote on the whole subject concerning the politics surrounding this whole event, click on this .. should shed a little bit light into what happened and why.
IMO the whole project should have been scrapped but who the fuck am I to talk about this.. Life is such.

Anyways, I ended up shooting her in the head with a rifle to get a little more juice flowing, but your father thankfully came in and offered his astroglided ass to me.
Anne Tomlinson was a little bitch who wouldn't suck my love missile in the server room.
She's been taken care, though...
