iforgotmyfirstlogon writes: "A couple of guys from Extreme Tech drove around New York, New Jersey, Boston, and Silicon Valley with a high gain antenna to see how many (secure and) unsecure wireless networks they could tap into. They used NetStumbler and Linux AirSnort to help them search. Results? They came across over 800 networks and less than 40% had any sort of security."

Why is this guys comment a 0?

The guy has had so many comments modded down before that /. simply defaults his score to 0. If he continues to get modded down, his default will become -1. Just like ubertroll or GaylordFucker.

On the flip side, if his comments get modded up a lot, he gets the option to set his default score for a post to either 1 or 2.

Your use of the word uber is very wrong. To say that someone is an ubertroll is an oxymoron. The meaning of the name troll is one who dwells below, so to be an unber troll you have to be both above and below.
