Fling-A-Keg
dave weekly writes: "Ever play Age of Empires and wonder at the trebuchets and catapults and what it would be like to launch them? Well, a bunch of medieval history and mechanical engineering geeks at Siege Engine decided to piece together several launching apparatuses and, for the benefit of the History Channel, flung kegs, pumpkins, and watermelons hundreds of feet all day long. The page also has pictures of a bunch of other sweet launchers, including air cannons."
how far it could fling my turds
Fourth troll yeah Slashdot sucks hooray for the trolls.
boo!
In all seriousness, is this really the best that can be done? Are others experiencing all the same problems I am?
this is way too cool!
I just heard some sad news on talk radio - Horror/Sci Fi writer Stephen King was found dead in his Maine home this morning. There weren't any more details. I'm sure everyone in the Slashdot community will miss him - even if you didn't enjoy his work, there's no denying his contributions to popular culture. Truly an American icon.
I would suggest it not use slashcode, as it seems to not work fairly frequently....

Louis Armstrong, trumpet player and Jazz pioneer, died yesterday morning in his Los Angeles home. He was 71. Armstrong's last performance was at James Madison University's Convocation Center on March 24, 2001, where he played to a standing room only 5,000. Armstrong was helped off the stage by his wife of 20 years, and he later told a reporter for the campus newspaper "I don't know how much longer I can do this. This may be one of my last shows." His final song was his biggest hit, Hello Dolly! He is survived by his wife, 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
I sure would like to be the one to take her virginity...
NEWMAN, Calif. (AP) - A man who held police at bay for 12 hours in the middle of Interstate 5 after being chased down for allegedly killing his wife and stepson three months ago killed himself Thursday night, authorities said.
SWAT team sharpshooters lay in a strip of dry grass alongside a rural section of Interstate 5 for hours before they heard gunshots and saw smoke come from the car. They had been negotiating with the man.
''He basically thanked them and said that slashdot sucks so bad he'd rather die than know it continued to exist,'' Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department spokesman Kelly Huston said about the suspect. Then negotiators ``heard a pop and then a wheezing sound,'' later determined to be the sound of VA Linux's stock.
Police fired teargas canisters at the car after hearing the shots and moved in to find Joaquin Gutierrez, 40, laying with his head back inside the vehicle. Gutierrez had shot himself in the chest, Huston said.
With the car blocking the Interstate about 50 miles east of San Jose, Gutierrez had held a gun to his chest for most of the day and vowed not be taken alive. The standoff took place near the border of Stanislaus and Merced counties.
The double murder suspect led police on a 110 mph chase, before state Highway Patrol officers threw a strip of spikes in front of Gutierrez' car, puncturing the tires.
Four family members were brought to the scene to talk with the suspect. The standoff and chase were broadcast widely on national television.
Gutierrez was wanted for the June 23 killing of his wife, Guadalupe Gutierrez, 40, and a 15-year-old stepson. His two other stepchildren were present during the shooting, which happened as the couple were in the process of separating, police said.
Police in Milpitas began chasing Gutierrez early Thursday after receiving a call about someone sleeping in a car with no license plates. His identity was traced through the car's identification number, but he fled when he heard a police siren.
He raced east on Highway 580 and then south on Interstate 5, going in the center divide or on the shoulder to get around rush-hour traffic, officials said.
You have been warned.
