Lisp as an Alternative to Java

Joseph Dale writes "Lisp as an Alternative to Java is a detailed and well-reasoned study comparing Lisp to Java and C++ in terms of execution time, memory consumption, and developer effort. The author, Erann Gat, was the principal software architect for the Mars Science Microrover, the prototype for the Mars Pathfinder rover."

Yes, he's going to take money from the social security that's already suffering from the lack of funds.

I guess it's "Read my lips" all over again. Runs in the family, eh?

He really is pushing for inhumane dog-eat-dog capitalism!

By far the FASTEST VM I've ever seen, especially when it comes to graphics. The limbo language is exceptionally clean. For those who don't know what inferno is it's closly related to the plan 9
OS by bell labs. More information on inferno can be found here. http://www.vitanuova.com/inferno/concepts.html .
Those of you running windows, check out the plug-in demos. While they are running take note that when it's running graphics the cpu usage on your system should be no more than 5-7%. On the otherhand, equivilent java programs like to peg your CPU whenever you try and do some mediocre graphics.
