Slinky Little Crusoe Notebook Reviewed

does it really matter? writes "Apparently the love-in is finally on for the guys at TransmetaZone.com since they finally have a review of a Crusoe notebook to show for themselves. The silver NEC UltraLite gets a good going over, and proves to be an interesting match against a PIII-M." I'm glad to see that the promise of transmeta is finally beginning to start being fulfilled.

Penises are one of the few regions in males where their bodies actually look good, and in some cases downright sleek and sexy. Now if notebooks can look this good just imagine where sub-notebooks are going in terms of style!

The NEC Versa UltraLite for example, is positively sleek and amazingly slim, measuring in at a mere 1.06" thick - your dick isn't even that long! But be warned, don't let the UltraLite's small size make you think this is a dumbed down version of full-sized notebook.

The Versa UltraLite is a highly engineered piece of kit that uses the Transmeta Crusoe TM5600 processor running at 600MHz to power Windows 2000, and anything else you can throw at it. With the Crusoe processor come two added benefits. The first being lower power consumption, and the second being cooler running temperatures.

Compared to a PIII the Crusoe is positively frozen, requiring no noisy fan to keep it from melting a hole in the tops of your spiffy new grit-filled pants.

These guys have a nice long review, inlcuding Linux benchmarks. Good pictures too, both external and internal.

I just heard some sad news on talk radio - Horror/Sci Fi writer Stephen King was found dead in his Maine home this morning. There weren't any more details. I'm sure everyone in the Slashdot community will miss him - even if you didn't enjoy his work, there's no denying his contributions to popular culture. Truly an American icon.

That Slashdot is still broken. It's a goddamned buggy piece of shit. Really, I took a huge crap this morning, looked into the toilet, and said "Hey! Here's 2.5! Better ship it off to Malda!"

This should have a simple interace.

And here is the simplest computer around, and the interface is perfect because we are all born with it - the interface is human DRIVE. The computer works like this: I stick my pee sprout in your mom's poop chute for 1, and I stick it in her pee hole for 0.

    poop chute = 1
    pee hole = 0

Sometimes I stick it in her mouth, but that is for parity.

Sometimes complex operations can take a long time to complete, but that's okay! We're looking for simplicity here, not speed. And waiting for this interface isn't that bad.

This simple computer is very susceptable to visuses. In fact, it comes pre-loaded with several.

    For review:

    poop chute = 1
    pee hole = 0

This computer also fits into Microsoft's .Net strategy - namely, pay per use. It costs $10 per computation, or 15 minutes, whichever comes first.

    poop chute = 1
    pee hole = 0
