      Why on earth didn't vi die along with the 8" floppy drive?

      Say no more.

      It's the only editor in which I had to spend time figuring out how to move the cursor in the first place and how to delete the last character of the line.

      It's ridiculous to except the people to read a manual in order to use a lightweight text editor!

    Idiot. The original post was obviously a pitiful attempt at humour, since it was basically a string of factual mistakes: for example, he claimed that Linux was started in 1991, and that Tanennbaum was sceptical at first. He even misspelled Linux's surname!
