This is from observation. Basically, if you are not logged in you can't see anything if you get there first. I believe this is to prevent A.C.'s from making 'first posts'. The implementation is incorrect though in that it does not allow you to see the story itself. You should be able to still see the story in this situation. This should be fixed.
