Gartner Group Suggests Dumping IIS For Now
sachmet is one of the many readers who contributed news that "Gartner Group is now recommending that
IIS be replaced in corporate environments. This is based on the fact that TCO for IIS is rising due to the almost-weekly patches sent out by MS, and even then, it's nearly impossible to get patched quickly enough. Best part: 'Gartner remains concerned that viruses and worms will continue to attack IIS until Microsoft has released a completely rewritten, thoroughly and publicly tested, new release of IIS,' which they say has an 80% chance of happening by the end of next year." Gartner hasn't always said favorable things about Linux systems in the workplace, but the businesses that rely on this type of analysis to justify purchasing decisions may find this one interesting. Update: 09/24 22:04 GMT by T :As several people have pointed out, the 80% figure appears to be Gartner's odds that IIS won't be rewritten that soon, rather than the other way around (.673334 probability).
EVeryone knows Microsoft makes the best products. Just look at Office in comparison to other "office suites" out there... None of them hold a candle to Microsoft.
Tell that to IBM.
Second post is the first loser.

You couldn't code your way out of a wet paper bag. My day has come. My day is here, right now.
Maybe in a few years, when you're old enough to drive, you can come do something about it, but until then, you're just going to have to whine about it on the Internet. Weiner.

Perl sux ass. A real ASP programmer can do Perl, but she just doesn't want to.
Hi, this is offtopic but I had to tell you people that run sites about this. I discovered this because some pages send emails when loaded and I was getting loads of emails.
I run a few sites (7 of them to be exact) and each time I create any page, I mean any page even test pages, they immediately are crawled by 2 bots from ip addresses with no domain related to them on whois. I don't have to promote the pages anywhere, and they're islands, no links anywhere, THEY GET CRAWLED INSTANTLY AND CONSTANTLY THROUGHOUT THE DAY BY THE SAME ADDRESSES. JUST NEED TO FTP THEM UP.
I KNOW NOTHING MUCH IS HAPPENING THERE, JUST THOUGHT IT WAS CURIOUS THAT THE FEDS ARE REALLY KEEPING CLOSE WATCH ON EVERYTHING ON THE WEB, SPECIALLY IMAGES WHICH THEY SAY HAVE STEGANOGRAPHY CYPHERTEXTS WITH BIN LADEN SHIT.
SORRY THE OFFTOPIC POST, BUT I HAD TO TELL YOU GUYS.

I'm gassy today.
I went to the john, but I can't take a dump. But I feel like a large gas balloon.
I feel like shit.
Hey, MF Spork, how did you get the crap to come out of your kid? Did you ram him, like usual?
Yes, and I suppose your posts are the pinnacle of intellect and wit, aren't they?

Golly gee, mom. Can Wally and the Beav' come along too?
That was the tamest attempt at a flame I've ever seen in my life. Go back to the AOL Backstreet Boyz 4-Eva chatroom for some conversation more closely matched with your own intellect.
