Nooper writes: "This years CEATEC 2001 features a bunch of new wireless gadgets accompanying DoCoMo's 3G (FOMA) launch." Check out the cute pictures -- in their "Showcase of Japanese Keitai (mobile phone) Culture you can find 72 free to use photos from this years CEATEC. We even made a special gallery with the integrated camera of our new FOMA phone." Phones in the U.S. look like such monsters in comparison.

    Today's fatal Greyhound bus crash in
    Tennessee, in which the driver's throat was slit,
    was not terrorism, authorities said. At least six
    and up to 10 people were killed in the crash.
    Greyhound has suspended service nationwide as
    a precaution.

      Of course it's not foreign terrorism. A slightly different scale than hijacking planes.

      Of course, it could have been domestic terrorism.

    When Muhammit was in a corporate war for control of trade in his region, he was studying religions (and also tripping on mushrooms) and decided that religion would be the best way to cement people to him (and ergo reap better profits (not prophets, hehe)).

    I have a Casio Wristcam Watch. It is a little bulky but it allows you to take quick small quality snapshots when you need it. It's fun in a toy/spy kind of way and to take pictures of weird things you see sometimes (lots of Kodak moments). But I also found it useful as a visual databank.

    I posted a picture here so that you can see the size and quality. Not very good quality-wise, until you consider that it's taken by a watch and that the watch can store 80 pics (and they pics can be beamed to my Palm handheld.)

    Seeing all this really nifty cool stuff just keeps reinforcing my impression that the japanese manufacturers have got the concept of 'cool toys' down pat and are running circles around everyone else with. However, for a culture that thrived under pragmatism for centuries, it amazes me how well they've adapted to the american concept of conspicuous consumption and throw-away electronics.

    What's really funny is that these asses can't seem to get the concept of (score: 0) means people reading at the default (score:1) don't see you, and your drivel isn't archived (Except, as some other troll pointed out, that seems broken, too, now. Posts at -1, are archived.)

    Why is it that in every movie that features some sort of an alien the people who end up fighting it always have a flamethrower.

    I mean take Alien or Carpenter's The Thing, for instance. What possible use could a deep space freighter crew or a research expedition to the Antarctica have for a flamethrower?!
