Overclocking Your iBook to 600MHz

Cryptnotic writes: "The guys at Accelerate Your Mac have figured out how to modify the motherboard on the recent Apple iBooks to get them to run at 600MHz with a 100MHz bus speed. There are benchmarks comparing the OC'd iBook to some regular Apple desktop machines. However, what I am wondering most is how this overclocked G3 compares to the much more expensive Apple G4 Powerbook and if it makes it worth voiding the warranty." Remember, not recommended for your iBook.

    Indeed. This is only one of the many reasons I absolutely detest Apple. I will NEVER EVER buy anything Apple, and I encourage everyone else to do the same.

    Apple arrogance and rip-offs make Microsoft look like a piker. Can you imagine the world we would have if Apple had one over Microsoft? Everything proprietary, and computers would still cost $5,000 for the base model, and $10K for the useful model.

    God, I fucking detest Apple.

    Apple will probably use their covert "software update" crap to send a magic bullet to destroy computers that have this mod. My bud had a G4 that apple sent the magic bullet down to destroy all the ram that wasn't from Apple (apple ram is expensive). Now the thing is good for a paperweight. I got him an AMD and he's never looked back.
